Responsibilities

  • Certification of zones and the design of physical security systems and construction activities for the protection of people, information, and assets
  • Conduct threat assessments for current and emerging threats
  • Design of physical security systems to meet ASIO T4 Technical Notes
  • Conduct formal commissioning or acceptance testing of physical security systems, including CCTV and security alarm systems
  • Monitor changes to SCEC products and review of SCEC Briefings for consultants
  • Engage and work with security contractors
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in providing advisory services for clients
  • Extensive knowledge of physical security systems including: perimeter security; electronic (physical) access control systems; video management systems (CCTV); alarm systems; locks and other door hardware; security containers and secure rooms.
  • A sound knowledge of security audits, personnel security, security guarding, corporate/executive security and information security policies relating to the classification and handling of information.
  • Membership to ASIO’s Outreach.
  • Provide evidence of past commissioning or acceptance testing
  • Security clearance to the standard of NV1 or NV2.

The applicant should also have excellent knowledge of the ASIO-T4 publications including:

  • ASIO Technical Notes
  • Security Equipment Evaluated Product List (SEEPL) and other security equipment guides
  • Protective security circulars
  • Protective security managers handbook
  • Security managers guide: working from home/precinct security/critical infrastructure security
